Aanya Sinha is a Delhi-based Indian entrepreneur, artificial intelligence researcher, and social impact strategist who has earned national and international recognition for her groundbreaking work in ethical technology. As the founder and CEO of NeuroGrit AI Labs, she is on a mission to harness artificial intelligence not just for innovation, but for inclusion, education, and positive societal transformation.
With over 12 years of experience in the field, Aanya is not only a tech leader but also a mentor, public speaker, and advocate for women in STEM. Her journey is one of intellect, resilience, and a deep-rooted passion for using technology to uplift communities and protect the future.
Born and raised in Delhi, Aanya’s fascination with computers began when she was just 11 years old. Encouraged by her parents — a teacher and a scientist — she was introduced to programming early and quickly fell in love with problem-solving through logic.
Despite limited access to advanced tech resources during her school years, she pursued every opportunity she could find — coding competitions, robotics clubs, and later, a B.Tech in Computer Science from IIT Bombay, where she graduated top of her class.
Her academic success laid a solid foundation, but it was her desire to solve real-world issues through AI that drove her to further pursue an M.S. and Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence at MIT, USA.
After returning to India in 2016, Aanya founded NeuroGrit AI Labs, a startup focused on building AI solutions that are transparent, fair, and socially responsible. Her vision was clear — bring human values into machine learning.
From AI-based diagnostics for rural healthcare to adaptive learning platforms for government schools, NeuroGrit became known not only for its innovation but for its impact-driven approach. Aanya’s leadership turned the startup into a globally recognized name in responsible AI development.
Unlike many tech CEOs, Aanya remains closely involved with academia. She serves as a guest lecturer at top institutes like IISc Bangalore and Stanford University and collaborates with NGOs, government bodies, and policy think tanks to shape ethical AI policy in India.
She has also published over 20 papers in top-tier journals and was featured in Forbes Asia’s 30 Under 30, Fortune India’s Most Powerful Women, and MIT Technology Review’s Global Innovators List.
Aanya is also the founder of the initiative “CodeHer India”, a non-profit that trains young girls from underserved communities in coding, robotics, and digital safety. Over 10,000 girls have benefitted from the program across 9 Indian states.
She believes that true tech progress must be inclusive, and mentorship is one of the greatest tools to ensure the next generation of innovators are diverse, empathetic, and socially aware.
Despite her intense schedule, Aanya emphasizes mindfulness and balance in her personal life. She is a practitioner of Vipassana meditation and often speaks about the need for mental health awareness in the high-pressure tech industry.
She enjoys classical Indian music, sketching AI-based art, and trekking in the Himalayas. These creative pursuits keep her grounded and serve as reminders that technology should enhance — not dominate — the human experience.
Looking ahead, Aanya Sinha is focused on scaling NeuroGrit’s open-source AI tools to Tier 2 and 3 cities, increasing AI literacy, and collaborating with government and private sectors to implement ethical frameworks for AI deployment.
Her dream is to create India’s first AI Ethics Certification Hub, enabling businesses and institutions to innovate responsibly and transparently.
For Aanya Sinha, AI is not about replacing humans — it’s about amplifying human potential. Her journey reminds us that the future of technology is not just in lines of code, but in the values we embed within them.
As she continues to mentor, build, and inspire, Aanya stands as a new-age changemaker — proving that empathy, ethics, and innovation can go hand-in-hand.
